I enrolled in Sri Lankas one of the first Mobile Game development competitions.

This was organized by Commercial Bank of Sri Lanka mainly to support up and coming mobile game developers by recognizing their creativity and capability through a mobile game competition.

I created a group of 3 with two of my badge mates and enrolled in the competition.

The idea was to build a simple game within a period of a couple of weeks. In fact, none of us has ever made a game before. We got together for a set of sleepless nights, planned the simplest game possible, followed a lot of game dev tutorials and finally came up with “Devil Run”

Devil Run is a simple endless runner collecting coins and chickens, shooting traps to get the highest score possible.

The evaluation of the game consists of the social presence of the game as well as the engagement. We created online campaigns, competitions to get people onboard on this game.

The overall competition concluded successfully, and I am happy to say that we won the Silver (2nd) award for the best mobile game!
